Broadcast Work

In February 2023, I produced a feature video for Cronkite News showcasing a museum dedicated to preserving local Black history in the Southwest. While Black History Month often emphasizes prominent national figures, this museum uniquely honors local achievements and stories, capturing the rich, lesser-known narratives of the community. This project reflects my commitment to storytelling that brings underrepresented voices to the forefront—a key approach I bring to all my content creation and marketing efforts.

Understanding economics is essential for engaging with societal issues and evaluating the proposals of policymakers and experts. However, these discussions can often feel complex and inaccessible. In April 2023, I produced this video for Cronkite News to break down these topics, making U.S. economic concepts clear and engaging for a wider audience. This project reflects my ability to translate complex information into digestible, audience-friendly content—a skill that’s invaluable in marketing and digital content creation.

In Spring 2023, I had the incredible opportunity to anchor Thursday broadcasts at Cronkite News. After a competive audition process with over 60 talented students, I earned the role and gained hands-on experience delivering the news. The experience taught me how to deliver clear, focused messages and the importance of adapting content to main audience interests. Working in this high-energy newsroom developed my storytelling, time management and attention to detail, all of which are essential for managing digital campaigns and content.

I am passionate about crafting compelling narratives that captivate and inform audiences. I believe storytelling has the unique power to simplify complex issues and forge meaningful connections with viewers. Whether showcasing local stories or addressing broader societal topics, I prioritize clarity and relatability in every piece of content. This dedication to impactful storytelling not only strengthens my content creation but also informs my marketing strategies, ensuring every message resonates deeply with its intended audience.

During my time at Cronkite News, I had the privilege of anchoring a special Black History Month field episode, which highlighted my ability to manage multiple aspects of production. The episode was filmed at the George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center, the former segregated high school for African Americans in Phoenix. In addition to anchoring, I took the lead in sourcing the shoot location, capturing video content, and managing lines in the field without the aid of a teleprompter. Balancing these responsibilities required careful planning, adaptability, and a keen eye for storytelling. This experience not only strengthened my skills in content creation and on-camera presentation but also honed my ability to manage productions from start to finish.
