Event planning often comes with last-minute changes and unforeseen challenges. I’ve become adept at crisis management—whether dealing with unexpected weather conditions or last-minute vendor issues—and learning to quickly adjust without sacrificing quality or the guest experience. My experience in navigating state purchase orders and business guidelines also helped me become resourceful and flexible.

Leading teams of coordinators and volunteers, I honed my skills in effective communication and teamwork. By actively listening to my team members and understanding their strengths, I ensured that each event ran smoothly. As a director, I learned to manage different personalities and find ways to meet people where they were to get the best results.
Vendor & Sponsor Relations
Overseeing vendor and sponsor relations has been crucial in ensuring event success. My experience ranges from handling NET30 purchase orders with state entities to managing relationships with external vendors and sponsors to ensure all needs were met. I’ve learned how to balance the demands of multiple stakeholders while maintaining a positive relationship with all parties involved.
Crafting Memorable Experiences
My event planning journey began in the luxury wedding industry in Scottsdale, where I was immersed in the high demands and attention to detail required for weddings in Paradise Valley. Working in such a fast-paced environment, I gained valuable experience in managing tight timelines, ensuring every detail was executed to perfection, and handling crisis management with grace. From there, I transitioned into coordinating events with the Programming and Activities Board at ASU, where I further honed my skills in event execution, vendor relations, and working within the constraints of university guidelines and budgets.
As the Special Events Director, I successfully planned and executed a range of events from intimate gatherings to large public affairs, including a Western-themed trip for 50 students, a Witches Eve for 250 attendees, and ASU’s Homecoming celebrations, where I played a pivotal role in the planning and coordination of the parade and other campus-wide activities.
